Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti was jointly celebrated by the Archaeological Museum & Sub Circle, Sanchi on 2 nd October, 2016 at Sanchi. Shri Shrivastava, Chief Municipal Officer, Sanchi was the Chief Guest of the Occasion.

Besides, local dignitaries, media persons and school children were also participated in the programme. The programme began with Saraswati- Vandana & lighting the lamp. Dr. M. C. Joshi, Assistant Superintending Archaeologist, Sanchi Museum welcomed the Chief Guest and he gave some important information on Mahatma Gandhi and Shastriji to the audience. In his speech, Chief Guest Shri Shrivastava remembered the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in Indian politics as well as in development of Indian Society. He also inspired school children towards the dream of Swachha Bharat of Gandhi. School children also delivered speech on this occasion and narrated some of the stories Shastri. A school related with Mahatma & Lal Bahadur girl recited a poem on Mahatma Gandhi. On the occasion, the Chief participated in Swachhta Abhiyan at museum premises and all the staff members of the museum and sub circle along with local people and students joined hands in this Abhiyan enthusiastically
